After 14 years as CEO of UPD (UK) Limited, Barrie Dudey is stepping down from the role.
Having been actively involved with UPD since its inception, Barrie now wishes to develop other business opportunities, although he will continue in a supportive role as Chairman of the national network. Barrie says "I am extremely proud of the achievements we have made over the years. We have worked hard to develop UPD to the prominent position it now holds in the industry with the introduction of innovative solutions and programmes produced to meet the demands of all market sectors. We have established strong working partnerships with many Clients, Manufacturers and Suppliers and it is important that these relationships are maintained."
John Virando, who has been with UPD since July 2008 as Head of Commercial Development, has been appointed the new CEO and will take up the position with effect from 01 October 2010.
Having spent a considerable amount of time observing and understanding the requirements of Distributor Members, Supply Partners and Clients, John says "I am very excited and proud to accept this challenging role. I have gained a great deal of experience within distribution, paint and accident management companies over the years and my time with UPD has enabled me to extend my knowledge more comprehensively. This has proved extremely valuable by helping me appreciate all aspects of the business".
Barrie will not be disappearing from the industry though. Far from it! "I feel extremely proud and privileged to have been associated with such a successful organisation and to have had the opportunity of working with such experienced and knowledgeable colleagues and individuals" says Barrie. "I will continue to strategically support UPD with its ongoing development and restructure in my role as Chairman. But this change now offers me the chance to pursue a number of other business opportunities and challenges, allowing me to utilise my knowledge and experience within this dynamically changing market".
